ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Spend an afternoon exploring analogue, experimental photography in collaboration with the natural world.
Lumen printing is a sun-powered photographic process that captures natural materials and light directly onto photosensitive paper. The workshop includes:
Introduction to materials and process with a live demo
Trail walk and foraging for natural materials
Creating compositions and first sunlight exposures in the studio or outside
Fixing and washing prints, sharing results
Optional time for experimentation, additional exposures, and exploring personal compositions
Sips and snacks by Grazing In Grey
Julie is a Tkaronto/Toronto-based artist whose practice engages with landscape and ephemeral elements like sunlight, breezes, and water. Her work has been exhibited internationally and supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council. She works out of a studio at Gibraltar Point on the Toronto Islands, where she likes to birdwatch and beachcomb between projects. Julie's contact Instagram
